Preliminary Automatics Course

Chapter 4. About
Chapter 4.1 Introduction

The detailed Scilab knowlege isn’t necessary to use this course. The only one Scilab application – Xcos will be used.
The shown examples are the tip of the iceberg only. But these small examples amount shows the Scilab power.

Chapter. 4.2 Simple Scilab funtions

Fig. 4-1
Click the Scilab shortcut and wait a moment. The Scilab is started

Fig. 4-2
The window will open. Write “2+2” instruction
Go on

Fig. 4-3
You can write many other more complicated intructions with IF, ELSE … etc. It enables physical effects modellig as whirlpool…

Chapter. 4.3 3D diagrams
Scilab is equipped with some demos – Scilab language ready programs. Beginners can feel Scilab power without programs writing.
You will draw function z = sin(x)*cos(y) surface for -4…x…+4, -4…y…+4.

I advice to use the broomstick to clear first.
Wow! But I show more. Use windows button to make 3D diagram full screen first.
